alcohol_awareness_monthTAM® of Nevada has been a part of the Las Vegas community for over 25 years, and is proud to continue offering an important service and superior product to local residents and businesses. We are always happy to get involved with community events to promote safe beverage service, and we are happy to announce that we’ll be on site at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this coming Friday for their First Friday “Alcohol Awareness” Wellness event.

The first Friday of each month, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino offers a Wellness event for employees and features a topic that employees have shown a great interest in. If you’ll be at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino this Friday, April 4th, TAM® Manager Sherry Cummings will be on site from 3:00pm to 7:00pm presenting on the short and long-term effects of alcohol on the body, and also on the club drug Ecstasy.

Need to obtain your TAM® Card? Sherry will also be administering proctored exams for online students and printing TAM® Cards at the Wellness event. You can complete your online TAM® training on our website. Once you’ve completed the course, bring Valid Identification to the Wellness event at the Hard Rock this Friday or to our Paradise Road office during regular business hours. You will complete your proctored exam and receive your TAM® Card immediately.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 4455 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89169, or Mondays through Saturdays at the TAM® Office located at 3900 Paradise Rd, Ste 205, Las Vegas NV 89169 (Office Building, Second Floor).

Spring Has Sprung – What’s New at the TAM® Office

TAM CardSpring has sprung in Las Vegas, and as we go into a new season, we’d like to take the opportunity to let you know what we’re up to at the TAM® office. We’re keeping busy with our regularly scheduled online and classroom courses, along with a handful of other special events. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new and exciting:

  • TAM® Card classes are available across Nevada. In addition to online and classroom-based TAM® class offerings six days a week at our Las Vegas office, we are also offering classes and online exam proctoring in Mesquite at the Virgin River Hotel and Casino on the third Wednesday of every month. Proctoring for online students is also available in Laughlin every Thursday from 8:30am-12:00pm at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce building in the Manpower office. Proctoring for online students is also available in the Reno/Sparks area by appointment. For more information on the schedule, visit our website.
  • Spanish classes are offered at our Las Vegas office. TAM® classes are offered in Spanish on the third Thursday of every month at 9:00am. Students are asked to arrive at 8:30am to register for their class. Additionally, with our classroom-based training option, we offer students the opportunity to complete their final exam in English, Spanish, Arabic, Tagalog, or Korean. Students with English as a Second Language can focus on what they have learned without the additional hurdle of English literacy.

Additionally, here are some general reminders and answers to common questions from our students:

  • Walk-ins for TAM® classes are always welcome at our Las Vegas office, but sometimes our classes do fill up, so make sure to arrive 15 minutes before class starts!
  • If you’re looking for our building, we’re located at 3900 Paradise Road, Ste. 205. You’ll find us in the office building at the Park shopping plaza on Paradise Road, between Flamingo and Twain. You can find our building directly behind the Citibank.
  • Our office is easily accessible by public transportation. Bus stop #108 lets passengers off right across the street! If you are driving, convenient parking for students is available on the side and rear of the building. Handicap parking is available in the rear of the building, and elevator access is available. Parking in the front of the building is limited-time parking only.

If you’re coming to our Training Center to complete your TAM® Training in the month of November or December, please consider bringing along a donation of non-perishables or canned goods to donate to our Three Square drop-box. Students and anyone else who wishes to donate can stop in at our Training Center at 3900 Paradise, Ste G, in Las Vegas and drop off non-perishables and canned goods during business hours.

Have Questions About Your TAM Card? We’ve Got Answers!

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere at TAM® of Nevada, we’re dedicated to excellent customer service, and educating our customers about the ins and outs of beverage service compliance here in Nevada. We’re open six days a week to teach classes and answer your questions. We often find ourselves providing details to our customers on several of the same topics. Here are the answers to some of your most burning questions:

  1. Can I also obtain my Sherriff/Work Card at the TAM® Office? Unfortunately, no. We are the only location in Nevada where you can obtain an official TAM® Card, but you’ll need to go elsewhere for your other employment requirements. A Sherriff/Work Card may be obtained from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. For more information on Sherriff’s Cards, refer to the LVMPD website.
  2. What forms of picture I.D. are accepted for proof of identification at the TAM® Office? You’ll need to show us a picture I.D. before completing your proctored exam and picking up your card. Luckily, we accept several forms of I.D.! In addition to Nevada and out-of-state driver’s licenses, passports, and state ID cards, please refer to our website for a completing listing of valid forms of identification.
  3. What if I lost my TAM® Card or changed my last name? We often hear from students who have lost their TAM® Card, or changed their last name after marriage and were directed by their HR Office to update their TAM® Cards. If you originally obtained your card from TAM® of Nevada and it was not expired, there is no need to repeat the class! You may obtain a replacement TAM® Card at our office at a cost of $10. Please visit us during business hours, and bring photo identification. We’ll take your picture and print your new card right away.
  4. My TAM® Card is expired. How do I renew my card? Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a “shorter” class for students who need to renew their alcohol education cards. State law mandates that students must complete the ENTIRE program following specific topics and curriculum every four years in order to remain in compliance. Plan on dedicating about 3 hours to your course – either online or in the classroom, followed by a short exam. Trade in your old card and get a new TAM Card® today.
  5. I want to attend class tomorrow. Do I need to register online, or can I walk-in? The choice is entirely up to you! You may visit our website to register for an upcoming course, or you may review our schedule and choose one of our convenient class times without pre-registering. For walks-ins, please arrive fifteen minutes before class begins to register at the door.
