Onsite Alcohol Awareness Training in Las Vegas: Keep Your Staff Compliant and Your Business Safe

As a restaurateur or business owner, you demand quality across your business, and your staff’s alcohol awareness training should be no different.

In Nevada, your staff must complete alcohol awareness training and hold a TAM Card before they can serve or sell alcoholic beverages. You have a duty to ensure that all of your employees are properly trained – not only to help keep your customers safe, but also to comply with the law.

Want to take the hassle out of staying on top of those training requirements? TAM of Nevada offers special onsite alcohol awareness classes for groups and companies, and we’ll make sure your staff is trained the right way. The benefits are clear:

Convenient onsite and online options for businesses

Do you have dozens or hundreds of employees who are working day, afternoon and evening shifts? With employees working a variety of different schedules, you can ensure that everyone receives convenient training on-site at your location at convenient times. TAM’s capable instructors are available to hold classes and proctor exams at your facility, at your convenience. If your staff prefers to train offsite and at their own pace, we also offer discounted group rates for the official online TAM Card course – the same great training in an online format.

Stay compliance and avoid fines

Ensuring that your staff is properly trained on alcohol laws and safe beverage service will also reduce risk and liability for your business. Employees issued citations for serving alcohol to minors can also face up to a $1000 fine. When an employee fails a compliance check, the business license department is notified which may mean problems when renewing licenses. Additionally, establishments which violate statute provisions pertaining to alcohol awareness training are subject to administrative fines. A single compliance failure can cost your business thousands—and damage your reputation overnight. Choosing the most comprehensive alcohol education protects you and your employees, your customers, and your business.

Ready to get started? Reach out today and we’ll help you schedule fast, compliant training for your entire team.

Promote Alcohol Awareness This April

Every day, almost 40 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver. This amounts to one death every 50 minutes (NHTSA). As a TAM Card® holder, you can do your part to help reduce that number. You have the skills to promote safe beverage service and reduce the chances that someone will be over served and get behind the wheel.

At TAM® of Nevada, we like to promote responsible service year-round. Spread the message that April is Alcohol Awareness Month, and this is a great opportunity to further reflect on safe service choices and showcase your training.

This month we encourage you to visit our website or our office to renew or obtain your official TAM Card. Our alcohol awareness course is available online 24/7, and our friendly staff is in the office six days a week to issue TAM Cards. Additional events in April include:

  • Final exams are offered at our Las Vegas office and several other locations across Nevada. View our exam schedule to find the option that works best for you.
  • Alcohol awareness class and final exams for online students will be available in Mesquite at the Virgin River Hotel Casino on Wednesday, April 16th. This event is repeated the third Wednesday of every month.
  • In-person class is offered in our Las Vegas office every Wednesday and Saturday morning. Walk-ins are welcome, but we encourage you to email or text us to reserve your spot in one of our classes.

How will you promote safe choices this April?

The Official TAM Card – New Look, Same Great Training

January is a chance for new beginnings, new resolutions, and a new TAM Card®! Beginning in January 2025 you’ll see a fresh new design of the official TAM Card.

While there are several authorized providers of alcohol awareness training in Nevada, TAM of Nevada is the only authorized provider of official TAM Cards and the #1 choice for hospitality employers in Las Vegas. Be wary of any company other than TAM® of Nevada that promises to sell you an official TAM Card. Working with a fake TAM Card can land you, and your employer, in serious trouble. It is easy to check to make sure you’ve received a legitimate card and training program. When getting your new TAM Card, look for each of the following characteristics which can be found on every card:

  1. TAM Card® name and registered trademark. Your card should have ‘TAM Card®’ written across the top in the purple text with the registered trademark symbol.
  2. TAM® of Nevada name and registered trademark printed vertically on the left side of the card.
  3. Official TAM logo. Look to the bottom left corner of your card and make sure you see the TAM logo at the bottom of the purple box. You should also see a light purple watermarked logo in the background of the card, behind your photo.
  4. Unique TAM Card Number. On the front of your card, you should see a chain of numbers which begin after the letters OE. A different number is issued to each TAM Card holder, and is unique to you.
  5. Signature on back of card. The back of your card should have the official TAM® logo along with a pre-printed signature.

If you are concerned that your current card may be invalid, or if you’d like to register for an official TAM alcohol awareness course, you can reach out to us at [email protected] or 702-545-6664. Remember, alcohol education is mandatory for almost all service professionals in Southern Nevada, and you can learn more about the differences between a TAM Card and other alcohol awareness cards by visiting our website.
