Is Your TAM Card Expiring? Check Your Expiration Date Online in Seconds

We’ve all been there: After you complete your training, you put your alcohol awareness card in your wallet or tuck it away in a drawer and forget all about it. But don’t forget, these cards are valid for four years, and then must be renewed.

Do you ever wonder if your alcohol awareness card has already expired? Many people reach out to us with that exact question. If you have an official TAM Card, you can actually find the answer yourself in just a few seconds. Begin by logging into your account on the TAM of Nevada website. Log in with the email and password you used when you first signed up. Once you are logged in to the learning portal, you can see the date when your TAM Card is set to expire.

The same online check works perfectly if you have lost your TAM Card. If you log in and see that your card is still valid, you don’t need to take the training again! You can simply visit our office during business hours to purchase a replacement card for $10. Bring a photo ID when you visit so we can verify your identity and print your new card right away. For more information about replacement cards, you can visit our blog post How to Get a Replacement TAM Card in Three Easy Steps.

If you see that your card is about to expire or has already run out, you can quickly register for your training on the same website. Remember, a TAM Card is valid for four years, but time can go by fast. If your TAM Card is already expired, don’t worry, there is no additional ‘late fee’ on top of the registration fee. Whether you are taking your training early or renewing an already expired card, the price for your official training is just $26.95 and your card will be valid for four more years.

Dive in: Your TAM Card is Crucial for a Job at the Pool

The desert heat is cranking up, which means pool season is officially here. If you’re eyeing a spot behind the bar at a resort pool or aiming to join a poolside cocktail crew, you already know the competition is fierce. Thousands of applicants are vying for those shifts under the sun. To stand out, you need to be work-ready on day one. Since alcohol awareness training is a legal requirement in Southern Nevada, having your TAM Card tells hiring managers you’re prepared to get to work. For bartenders and cocktail servers, a TAM Card is definitely more like a “driver’s license” than a “nice-to-have” accessory. It’s the baseline for employment, not an optional add-on.

Alcohol awareness training helps keep everyone safe and keeps you on the right side of the law. Whether you are working on a busy casino floor, in a high-end restaurant, or at a sunny pool deck, this course gives you the tools you need to do your job well.

Ace Your TAM Card Exam with These Simple Tips

Ready to get to work in the hospitality capital of the world? Whether you are aiming to pour drinks on the Strip or serve guests in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada state law requires you to pass a supervised alcohol awareness exam with a score of 75% or better before you can be issued your alcohol awareness card, also referred to as a TAM Card.

While “exam” might sound intimidating, there is no need to be nervous. We are here to make sure you walk into our office with total confidence.

Here are some quick tips to help you ace your test and get to work:

Depending on how you choose to learn, your path to the finish line looks a little different.

  • Online training: Once you complete your TAM training online, you’ll head to our office located right off the strip at 2310 Paseo Del Prado for a proctored exam with our friendly office staff.
  • Classroom training: If you prefer a traditional setting, you’ll take your test immediately following one of our in-person training sessions, available every Wednesday and Saturday at our office. Added bonus – if you’re in the classroom, don’t hesitate to ask questions to our expert instructors!

The exam is a straightforward review of the material you’ve already covered.  Here is how to ensure you’re ready:

  • Take the practice test. Online students have access to a practice test at the end of their training. This is the best way to see the types of questions that will appear on the final.
  • Find time for a 5-minute refresh. If you wait a few days between your training and your exam, flip through the TAM Student Manual before you walk into our office to keep the info fresh and top of mind.
  • Relax! Most students find the test to be a breeze after participating in the training.

15 Minutes to the Finish Line

We know your time is valuable. The short exam is all multiple-choice questions based on the information you learned in the TAM course. Between taking the test and getting your picture taken for your official TAM Card, you’ll be in and out of our office in approximately 15 minutes. The training you’ve completed with us won’t just help you ace the exam; it will also help you practice safe beverage service every single shift.

Relax, focus, and you’ll do great! Visit our website at www.tamnevada.com to get started.
